Confirming Your Guest’s Arrival

Confirming your guest’s arrival involves two steps…

STEP 1 is confirming you have received the guest’s arrival details i.e. their estimated arrival date and time.

STEP 2 is confirming when the guest actually arrives at your home so we can start the placement.

Step 1

Notification of Guest Arrival Details

Once you receive our email “NOTIFICATION OF GUEST ARRIVAL DETAILS” please log on to your NZH Dashboard at https://portal.newzealandhomestay.co.nz/.

Once you have successfully logged in, click on “Placements“.

From here you will see a screen similar to this:

Under “Estimated Arrival at Homestay” click “Confirm”.

You will then see a message saying “You have confirmed this arrival“.

Step 2

Confirming Your Guest’s Arrival at Your Home

Log in to your NZH Dashboard at https://portal.newzealandhomestay.co.nz/.

You will see an alert with a red icon at the top of the page saying “Confirmed placement: When your guest has arrived, please click here to start the placement”. Click on the alert.

Once you have clicked the alert, the below screen will show (with the guest’s name listed above it). Ensure you are confirming the correct guest and correct arrival date (you can change the arrival date if the student arrived early/late), then Save.

Once the placement is confirmed, the below screen will appear showing the basic placement information on the left and reports on the right.

This is also where you can leave feedback about your guest and the placement during the time they are with you. Simply click on the face which best represents how the homestay is progressing. You can also leave an optional comment.

You can return to this screen at any time via your dashboard – Placements.
