New Zealand Homestay (NZH) requires hosts to have appropriate liability insurance protection for themselves and their guests as well as appropriate cover for guests’ belongings.
New Zealand Homestay has an exclusive insurance program to provide protection for students and hosts under one policy. The policy has been designed specifically for our registered New Zealand Homestay hosts and guests in a homestay situation.
All approved students and hosts are automatically covered under New Zealand Homestay’s insurance policy.
The policy is underwritten by AXA XL.

Special Condition
Cyber and Data Total Exclusion – The policy does not extend to cover any losses connected to a Cyber-attack or incident.
Total Communicable Disease Exclusion – The policy does not extend to cover any losses connected to any communicable disease.
The coverage provided under this insurance only applies during the actual period when a guest is staying with an accredited NZH host.
